Why It Matters – Awaab’s Law:

Starting 27th of October 2025, Awaab’s Law will require councils and social landlords to investigate and resolve damp and mould issues within strict timeframes.

Under this new legislation:

Damp and mould must be investigated within 10 working days
Findings must be reported within 3 days
Remedial work must begin within 5 days of investigation
Emergency hazards must be addressed within 24 hours
